It’s pretty dang hot in NC now. It has been for at least a week. 100* hot. It reached over 100 again today, as yesterday and Saturday. I arrived at work this morning a little before 8am and proceeded to walk upstairs, noted that it was unusually hot in the lobby (granted it does have a wall of glass so it normally does get pretty warm during the summer), made my wall to the main hallway upstairs, saw my suite door was closed and prayed that I would be greeted by a cool rush of air…. alas, God chose to not grant my desire. It was very warm in my suite.
As the morning progressed, I found out the A/C had shut itself off sometime over the weekend, but it was back on and working. As the morning progressed, it did seem to feel a few degress cooler, but around 11am it became apparent that it was not working correctly and it was being to warm up. Needless to say we officially closed at 3pm. The good thing was the A/C was working fine downstairs so I was able to go down there in the afternoon and get some work done away from my computer.
After sweating all day at work, I decided it would be a good idea to go outside and sweat all evening in the 99* weather. Brad and I played tennis from 5:30 to 7:30 and thankfully, did not perish. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. One day last week we were only able to make it an hour. We played for 3 hours Friday evening and felt fine. Afterwards, we ate dinner at fat daddy’s… probably not the best decision, but it was damn good. Always is.
lol, I was just linked this: Worst album cover?
Anyway, good times, I just hope the A/C is working again. We have an event next week (Mon-Wed) and still have a lot that needs to get done. Joy.
Obama was in town today, kicking off his two week tour where he talks about the economy. I have yet to read about what all he said, but it won’t save us right now. Granted, I am not feeling the pinch, but millions of people are during this “crisis”, so what do I know.
Appalachian plays Richmond this Saturday night at 8pm, in Boone, NC. That’s going to be a cold game, lol. Like many other places in the country, it’s supposed to snow their this week. Oh yeah, it’s going to be aired on ESPN2
If you don’t watch it, you’re a loser.
Carolina (Hockey) plays tonight. They badly need a win. They’ve lost 6 of their last 9 games. They’ve let the rest of their division catch up after having such a good start to the season. Blah
In other news besides sports, it’s getting cold. Like cold and windy. It reminds me of undergrad at App, but it isn’t quite that cold yet. Just mainly the wind part.
Christmas will soon be here. I am definitely not prepared gift wise. I have one gift and five or six more to purchase. Go me! I still have time. I’ll go look one night this week after work. We have a conference going on all week for work. We will be at the Sheraton Imperial near the airport. Fun times.
::Correction::
The game is now Friday night at 8pm. It was moved because of the bad winter weather and the fact that Delaware has yet to leave to go play Southern Illinoise. That game was originally supposed to play Friday night.
