I love Lost. Oh, how I missed it.  I think I love the show because it makes viewers think more and is less predictable than most shows on TV. <3

I also missed House.  It teaches and makes me think.  Pretty exciting  :)

So, in bad news, I attempted to fix my parents computer today, but ended up doing more harm than good and kind of did a system restore, which made it go back to factory defaults.  Needless to say, I was very surprised and very upset.  Thankfully, last weekend, I had helped them back up important files, but still.  I spent much of the day installing and updating and getting things in working order.  It’s funny how slow windows makes a computer… I ran rather well with XP SP1, but after SP2 and all the other years worth of updates, it gets a little sluggish.

Tomorrow is the Super Bowl and Tuesday is Super Tuesday! YaY!!!@!!11!  I’m a dork.

Besides a house fire earlier in the week, we also had unusual excitement yesterday. I receive a phone call at work from my mother informing me that father was contacted by our alarm company saying our alarm had gone off at the house. She did not have more details so I called father and he told me that the intruders were requesting medical assistance, that one of them, out of 2 had been shot. Soon afterwards, the neighbors started calling that fire, police, and medical personnel were all on the street and in our yard.

A few minutes had passed since the initial calls and father and myself were still at work. It shook my parents up pretty good because of the details. Burglars had come into their home, stolen some things, and in the process one was shot and they were now in the house with guns requesting medical attention.

After I find out father is still at work because he is nervous and doesn’t know quite what to do and can’t find his car keys, I take off out the door. My normal 20 minute drive from my parents house to work took a measly 9 minutes. Fortunately for me, the other drives on the belt line were kind enough to get out of the way of the fast moving car with it’s flashers on. And I am grateful for the city police I passed who apparently did not have his radar activated or just choose to ignore me because it would have been well within the law to revoke my license on the spot.

I arrive to the house to find…. a sheriff waiting in the driveway. Apparently, everyone arrived but nothing was out of the ordinary at the house. They searched the premises, found all the windows and doors locked and no sign of visible forced entry. I thanked the sheriff and he drove away. I phone my dad to let him know the good news and also my mother. They were both relieved.

Once father arrived, we went inside the house to make sure everything was ok and it was. We then called the security company to see what the hell they were doing wrong. Apparently, their was another home in the state in a different city that had the same address as ours and/or the same last name. We are not quite sure, they were not very specific with us. Somehow their computer brought up the wrong account.

It must have sucked for two burglars in another home who were expecting medical attention, but arrived late because of a computer error.
