This has been going around the last week or so, but it’s pretty neat.

It’s been a long time since I got 12 hours of sleep in one night.  I guess working two weeks straight will make you tired enough.  It was great to wake up this morning at 10 feeling good and ready to go.  It’s also nice because I need to work on my paper more, plus there is a lot of football on tv I want to watch.

Yesterday I came across a few articles about people losing their jobs because of facebook.  I googled myself and my facebook profile was 5th on the list.  Now, I did not do a spicific search, I just typed my name, and there are a ton of people that have my name, both dead and alive.  I don’t remember the last time I googled myself, but I sure as heck was not on the first couple of pages, let alone the top five results.  The odd think is though, when I do more targeted searches, like including the word facebook, my profile doesn’t seem to show up, this website shows up on the first page though.  Kind of strange… the wonders of the internet/google.

Anyway, hope all is well with you guys.  Time to work on the paper some more and get ready to watch football!  I watched the Duke basketball game last night and they are looking pretty good.  UNC is good as always.  NC State and Davidson play Dec. 6th.  We’ll see how the pack handles that one.  Appalachian only plays Davidson once in basketball, which is good for App.  Speaking of App, I think there game today against Western is televised.  The playoffs start next weekend and the playoff seed show is Sunday night on ESPN U.  Can App make it 4 National Championships in a row?  We’ve been looking good the last 7/8 games, considering we’ve won them all!   If we win today, we will be undefeated in our conference, which doesn’t happen very often.

Holy Crap, this Wake Forest vs FSU game is ugly…..!!!!!!   FSU just threw two interceptions in a row!!!  There is less than three minutes in the fourth quarter.  Wake Forest can’t seem to make a field go either.  The best kicker in the country has missed three FG this game.  It’s crazy.

Anyway, I’m proud NC State played so well today.  I’m not sure where it came from, but they did good against ECU.  ECU wasn’t playing all that well, but it was a pretty good game.

The App St. vs JMU game just ended.  App lost 32-35.  That was a crazy game as well.  App was leading 21-0 at halftime.  I thought the game would be close, but after seeing the first half, I was shocked.  The second half of the game was how I expected it to be.

I think App will still be fine this season.  I would bet good money they will play JMU in the playoffs again.  Hey, Wake Forset made a FG!  12-3, lol.  But yeah, as long as App beats them in the playoffs, I’ll be happy.  :)   They are looking pretty good this season.  I think they have another chance to do it again.  Last season I didn’t think they would do it, but they proved me wrong.  <3

I wonder what are the chances of this actually happening: WH has to keep files. They’ve already destroyed a lot of things.  When they were being investigated about DA firings, they did not have emails and other files.

Sarah Palin is starting to get annoying.  The way she speaks and how she does not know, or appear, to know much.  I have never had much faith in the American people, but hopefully they will pay attention to things.  If McCain wins, he can think white middle-aged women.  But it is still weeks away, so who knows.

This site is pretty funny, much like icanhascheezeburger:

Of course, it is politics and sports that brings me back here.

I’m a surprised that McCain picked Palin, but I, like most everyone else, did not know who he would pick as VP.  When McCain has a heart attack, I’d hate to have her as President.  I guess he felt he had to pull out all the stops and take a big risk.  I think it’s a smart move in one regard to pick a woman VP, espeically when Obama did not pick one.  But man, everything else just does not seem to make sense.

If you are wondering where I’ve been the last part of the summer, I’ll shed some light on what I’ve been up to.  A lot of work, some vacations and breaks, and my grandfather passed away last Tuesday.  Life = change, doesn’t it?  More on the way soon.  ;)

Cheer on Appalachian tomorrow at 5pm 11am, they take on LSU.  I think we’ll do good if we score half the points they do.  But what do I know?

Should be a fun season…  let’s hope we can make it to the playoffs again.

I’ve been trolling around the sports sites today looking for news and the following links are some of what I found:

App football and QB Armanti Edwards, here.

USA Today has a wonderful article about Appalachian.  It gets deeper into our story.  USA Today

Biggest upset of 2007.

Reading this makes me a little nervous about tomorrow night.   I’m nervous no matter what.  People expect a lot out of us, especially beating Michigan and winning the last two national championships.  This year, we have a lot more to lose than just one game.

The Blue Hens of Delaware just won that close game, 20-17.  I can’t speak much about the two teams since today was the first time I’ve seen them play, but I think it would be safe to say that neither of them played their best football.

Delaware almost didn’t get in the play-offs, they are ranked 13 out of the 16 that made it to the post season, but they beat the No. 1 team and now, the number 4 team.  Hopefully, they won’t beat the No. 5 team next week.  :P

If App plays like last night and scores 55 points, then yes, they will win 3 National Championships in a row.  How sweet it would be.  I don’t want to make a prediction, so I won’t, but I do have confidence that if Edwards and Richardson stays healthy, App will win.  Even if Trey comes in the game, I still think we can defeat Delaware.

We will see Friday night at 8pm on ESPN2.

It’s currently halftime in the Southern Illinois / Delaware game. SIU is winning 10-7. I can’t quite make up my mind who I want to win. The defense of Southern Illinois scares me a little because our offense is how we win games. Our defense is getting better, but they still make me a little uneasy. Last year we went 14-1. We lost our first game of the season to NC State, which we probably could have won if we had our offense set up right, but whatever. :) Our defense hasn’t always been there this year, but our offense has been hard to stop.

It’s hard to make a decision now because neither of the teams are playing at their best. Delaware has a good run and pass game, but their quarterback it’s a runner like Edwards is, they rely on their running back. If App plays coverage like last night, where it was pretty much man to man all game, then I’m not sure how well we can cover Delaware’s receivers.

I’ll let you know what I decide after the game. The second half is about to begin.
