Hi internet world.  Just giving a quick update.

Last Thursday was the 4-H Lifetime Achievement Awards banquet.  It took place the Embassy Suites in Concord and they did a very good job with the event.  We helped raise over $180,000 for 4-H, a very good number considering the economy.  We are fortunate to have good partnerships, both personal and business.  Since the hotel is only a few miles from my sister’s house, it made sense to just visit and stay the weekend.  Aiden is doing well.  He’s around 4 months old, weights between 9 and 10 lbs, still has digestive issues, but other than that, he is doing well.  After being born 3 months early and the only thing not working “right” is his stomach/intestines, he’s doing pretty good.  He just goes through phases where he can’t get comfortable and cyring is the only form of communication he knows, so he is a little cry baby most of the time.  Normally he lets out a big burp or farts like an adult, then all is well and he smiles or goes back to sleep.  He is such a handsome little guy and he is starting to learn the difference between night a day.  He does good during the day (doesn’t sleep as much) and he sleeps a good bit during the night.  For a while he was on a schedule where he would wake up every 3 to 4 hours, he has had a few nights though where he sleeps for 6 to 8 hours straight.

Anyway, I was with my sister, brother-in-law, Aiden, and my mother all weekend.  Frank and I were actually able to get some golf in, so that was nice.  My sister was able to disappear for a while and go shopping, so I’m sure she really enjoyed that.  It takes a lot to give up parts of yourself and all your time to raise a child, but I guess that is what it takes.  Sunday at lunch was a family reunion, the Bailey side of the family.  It’s on my mom’s side and there is also a connection on my dad’s.  It was a good turn out, around 30, so it was nice to see people you don’t see that often.

This is the last week of class. Yay  :) .  I have a final Thursday night, then I’m done until August.  It’s weird that it’s already summer time and it feels like it.  It’s been in the 80′s since last week and will last through the weekend.  The Hurricanes play game 7 tonight in the first round of the playoffs.  It would be nice if they won, but it’s really a toss up game.  New Jersey has played well all series, except Sunday night when the Canes won 4-0.  Should be a good game.

You know it’s a good day when:

1. It snows

2. Family and Friends

3. UNC loses in basketball

4. Duke wins in basketball

5. NC State wins in basketball
